even savages themselves reject. Nevertheless, natural theology must be carefully distinguished from pagan theology as such, because the latter is false and the former is true. XVIII. We note that natural theology has four chief uses. (1) The first has to do with God, who by means of it renders the impious without excuse96 (Rom. 1:20).
